Bengaluru finds itself in a precarious position as far as availability of water is concerned with its dependency on the Cauvery River and local surface water sources either drying up due to over usage or pollution of existing streams and lakes. The management of wastewater in the city presents an equally dismal picture.
This course aims at building capacity to create better wastewater infrastructure in the city of Bengaluru by creating a pool of over locally trained professionals who can operate and maintain Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs).

Course Objective
- By end of the course, the candidate will be able to operate wastewater treatment plant and other related equipment. The candidate would be able to perform the operation and cleaning of different screen valves in a wastewater treatment plant and charge the slurry tank. In addition, he/she will be well equipped with the skills to add desired quantity of chemicals and microbes to treat water. Technicians will facilitate calibration of process control equipment in the treatment plant
